Can Apple reject my trade in? ›

"Apple or its trade‑in partners reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit quantity of any trade‑in transaction for any reason.

While Apple's trade-in program is convenient, it may not always offer the best value for your device. Other platforms, such as eBay, Swappa, or third-party trade-in sites can sometimes offer higher trade-in values. However, these platforms may require more effort on your part.

Generally it takes 2–3 weeks. Your trade-in device needs to be sent to us within 15 days of receiving your new device. The sooner we receive your trade-in, the sooner we can verify its condition and process your credit or gift card. It may take 3–5 business days for your credit to be processed.

Your trade-in estimate is valid for 14 days after you receive your new device. It's important that we receive your trade-in within this time frame to ensure that you get the estimated value.

It'll be inspected when it's received to verify the condition matches what you reported; if it doesn't, you'll have the option to back out or continue with the trade and pay the difference. If you're at an Apple Store, the process is similar except everything happens right there on the spot.

You can always trade in phone, to get a refund you have to have apple care.
