The hut was built on the site of the first mountain hut in Slovenia. The hut offers a beautiful view of Triglav and its neighbouring peaks. In addition to the hut, there are several shepherds huts on the mountain pasture.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the car park at the Janez Inn, continue in the direction of Črna prsti and Orožna hut. At the beginning of the route, walk along the macadam road, which opens up a beautiful view towards Triglav. After the first climb, the path passes into the forest and turns slightly to the left, leading to a marked crossroads.
At this crossroads, continue in the direction of Črna prst and Orožnova hut. Follow the path along the right-hand edge, passing a private house. The path then joins a track which continues the ascent. A little higher, at a crossroads, continue right, and then the path continues through the forest.
Continue past the log cabin and the wooden cross and soon arrive at a newly marked crossroads, where you continue to the right in the direction of Orožnova's hut, while the path on the left leads towards the mountain pasture behind Črna Prst. The path continues crossing the slopes slightly to the right, with a slight descent in between. When the descent ends, an old path joins us from the right, which is slightly shorter but no longer officially marked.
Continue along the forest path, crossing a few paths, and at a marked crossroads continue along the path to the right. A few minutes higher up, you reach a forest road, which you cross, the direction on the right points you towards Orožnova hut. A relatively steep climb through the forest follows, and a slightly longer path joins us from the right. Continue left and in a few minutes you will reach Orožnova hut, where you can take a well-deserved rest.
